Shanghai 2018 did not disappoint thanks to veteran power mixing with the younger generation to produce upsets, records and drama. Here are some of the week's most notable moments and milestones:

1

Ten years strong

The tournament celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a specially decorated cake and the tournament’s top players.

Age gap doesn't stop Coric

Borna Coric notched his second consecutive win over Roger Federer this year, 6-4, 6-4 to reach his first career ATP Masters 1000 final. The 21-year-old is 16 years younger than the Swiss, but that didn't show on court.

A first for Djokovic

An in-form Djokovic did not drop a set or lose a service game on his road to the title.

"Well, to be honest, I'm not sure whether it has happened ever, you know, that I go through a tournament without dropping one service game," Djokovic said. "I'm sure that it hasn't happened too many times if it did. So this was definitely one of the best service weeks that I had in my career."

In the semifinals, he swept No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev 6-2, 6-1 to earn his first career victory over the German.

Federer vs. Zverev, a viral poll

Which viral moment was better? Zverev meeting the ball boy he scared, or Federer hula-hooping in front of a packed stadium in Shanghai?

6

Federer pandemonium

The support for the Swiss was out of this world in Shanghai, but it wasn’t quite enough to see him through to the final.

Sampling Shanghai’s finest cuisine

The Masters Club at the Shanghai Open is home to one of the city’s most exclusive pop-up restaurants, and is open to the players for only a week each year. The restaurant is just steps from Center Court, and cooks everything from nutritious athlete-friendly meals to Maine lobster and Arkansas City Tomahawk steaks.

Djokovic jumps for joy

The Serbian won his fourth title of 2018 and fourth in Shanghai by easing past Coric in the final, 6-3, 6-4. He then jumped for joy with his team.

That's a wrap for Shanghai 2018. The ATP tour moves to Stockholm, Antwerp and Moscow next week.
