Eugenie Bouchard took advantage of her travels around the world for fall tournaments to take a dip in the Dead Sea and explore Jerusalem and Tashkent. And why not? The Canadian has been traveling full-time on the pro tour for her entire adult life.
Since reaching the second round of the US Open, the 24-year-old has experienced another slump, losing in the first round of Chicago, Hiroshima, Tokyo and Tashkent. Losing is never fun, but on the bright side, she has made time to sight-see.
Visited a new country this week! This is a rare occasion because I’ve been traveling around the world for 15 years now, so I’ve been many places. I should count them all and keep track. It’s been so interesting to see the culture, people & food here; it’s like a mix of Asia, Russia and the Middle East. You can imagine how good the food is! Tennis has allowed me to travel so much and I’m very grateful. Ok end of sappy post. PS I’m super shy in this pic cuz I asked a stranger to take it! Solo sight seeing ftw
She went all out for a swim in the Dead Sea.
And then made a witty quip at all the haters, who have piled on since her ranking has dropped from a career-high No. 5 in 2014 to outside the Top 100.
Bouchard is currently ranked No. 110.
