As the tours have settled into Asia, some players have made very, very big names for themselves. Here are the top breakout stars of the fall season.

Denis Shapovalov

The Canadian is is inching closer to his first ATP title. After the US Open, where he lost in five sets to Kevin Anderson, the 19-year-old won a critical match in Canada's Davis Cup tie with The Netherlands. Against veteran Robin Hasse, he came back from two sets down to secure a five-set victory. At the St. Petersburg Open, he made it to quarterfinals, losing to Martin Klizan in three sets. Then at the Japan Open, he three tough matches in three sets en route to the semifinals, including a win over three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka.

Malek Jaziri

The 34-year-old is making his home country of Tunisia proud with some superb tennis in recent weeks. At the Chengdu Open, Jaziri beat both Adrian Mannarino and Marcos Baghdatis in straight sets. Then in Beijing, he scored his most notable win of the fall over world No. 5 Alexander Zverev, 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-4. It marked his third victory over a Top 5 this year alone.

Daniil Medvedev

The 22-year-old Russian is continuing his career-best season deep into 2018. At his home tournament in St. Petersburg, he lost a third-set tiebreak to Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinals. He rebounded in Tokyo, beating Milos Raonic and Shapovalov before stunning home favorite Kei Nishikori in the final, 6-2, 6-4. It's Medvedev’s third ATP title of the season and he will rise to a career-high ranking of No. 22.

Aryna Sabalenka

After losing in the round of 16 at the US Open to eventual champion Naomi Osaka, Sabalenka picked up some insane momentum in the Asian swing. The 20-year-old  won the Wuhan Open with wins Carla Suarez-Navarro and Elina Svitolina. After those two tight matches, she didn't drop a set the rest of the way, eventually taking out Anett Kontaveit in the final. It marked her second WTA title, the first coming in New Haven in August. She then reached the quarterfinals of Beijing, and suddenly finds herself one spot away from the Top 10.

Nikoloz Basilashvili

After Basilashvili lost to Rafael Nadal in the fourth round of the US Open, he posted a quarterfinal run in Metz but then lost to Sam Querrey in the first round of Chengdu. The Georgian turned things around by stunning the field in Beijing to take home the title. He earned wins over Jack Sock, Fernando Verdasco, Kyle Edmund and ousted top seed Juan Martin del Potro in the final. It marks his second title of 2018, and second overall after winning the ATP 500 in Hamburg.

Wang Qian

No player has displayed a greater fall season than China’s own Wang. At the Guangzhou Open, Wang did not drop a set en route to the title defeating Yulia Putintseva in the final. In Wuhan, the 26-year-old's tremendous groundstrokes were on display when she defeated world No. 7 Karolina Pliskova on her way to the semifinals. But Wang saved her best for Beijing. From shutting out Jelena Ostapenko 6-0, 6-0 to snapping Sabalenka’s eight-match streak, Wang proved virtually unbeatable on home soil. She's the first Chinese player since Li Na to make it to the semifinals of Beijing.
