Venus Williams, Lizzo and more talk plus-size fashion

Perhaps lost in the wake of the US Open's climactic close in the women's singles final, another member of the House of Williams took part in an important conversation in New York.

Venus Williams joined a panel discussion alongside entertainer Lizzo and others that was put on by the burgeoning Curvy Con event, a collaboration among the Council of Fashion Designers of America and more partners during September's second wee—and for the second year in a row, during New York Fashion Week.

Others participating in the series of mixers, runway shows, breakout sessions and more included actresses Gabourey Sidibe and Chrissy Metz, model Ashley Graham and more.

"People are celebrating bodies of all sizes, and people are paying to get more everywhere," Williams saidduring the panel. "For us to make that launch into every single size and partner with Dia & Co is extremely rewarding."

Her EleVen by Venus athleisure and tennis apparel company is now putting out plus-size pieces.

Expect more from Williams in the future on this topic, and on changing the fashion game overall—and also expect that she will deliver.
