Benoit Paire's week in Tokyo ended ended against Kei Nishikori in the round of 16, but not without the Frenchman first having some fun.

Down 5-3 in the second set, Paire pulled off a high-flying tweener volley. It was an unnecessary risk, but it paid off. Despite the theatrics, Paire dropped the match to local favorite Nishikori, 6-3, 7-5.

"Regardless of the outcome, the matches against Kei are always special moments for me," Paire wrote on Instagram. "A lot of memories against this exceptional player."

Paire left the Tokyo courts empty-handed, and then suffered another loss when he struggled to win a stuffed panda.
