The ATP side of the China Open gets underway this weekend, and Alexander Zverev and Marcelo Melo showed up early to take in some of Beijing's culture.

Namely, they learned some tai chi and sampled the local cuisine.

"We're probably the two tallest tai chi masters of all time," Zverev said of himself (6' 6") and Melo (6' 8"). "We definitely stand out."

On the scary side, Zverev was allowed to handle a sword.

Fortunately, he was in his teacher's good hands.

The tai chi partners also made time to practice tennis together:

Zverev hasn't made a tournament final since he won the Citi Open in early August, but maybe his Laver Cup success will help him get the end-of-season boost he needs.
