CHICAGO—Opening day of the 2018 Laver Cup is starting and ending with a bang. Friday's day session will see Team World's Frances Tiafoe face off against Grigor Dimitrov, followed by Jack Sock taking on Kyle Edmund.

Tiafoe will be understandably tired after coming in last minute after Juan Martin del Potro pulled out, and recovering from a five-set loss to Borna Coric in Croatia on Sunday. But he'll be seeking revenge after dropping a third-set tiebreaker to Dimitrov in Toronto this summer.

Sock is trying to turn his singles year around, but he'll be feeling extremely confident in the night session doubles match with Kevin Anderson against Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. Djokovic and Federer will thrill their many Chicago fans, but they'll need to bring their A game as Sock and Anderson hold the doubles prowess edge.
