The 2018 season hasn’t gone entirely as planned for Dustin Brown, as the veteran has spent the year ranked outside of the Top 100. He’s been grinding away at clay-court ATP Challengers the past few weeks, though, posting some solid results.

The behind-the-back lob can be used in singles or doubles as the German demonstrated when he and his countryman Andre Begemann took on Guido Andreozzi and Guillermo Duran:

Szczecin was a rough event with two opening-round losses, but Brown is coming off a week where he reached the singles final in Genova, Italy. Two weeks ago, he won the doubles title in Como, Italy, with Begemann.

The shotmaker supreme is on the upswing and as he continues to rise, expect to see more dives, drop shots, no-look lobs…the list is endless.
