NEW YORK–As a reward for finally getting a win, Jack Sock will play a marquee night match inside Louis Armstrong Stadium on Wednesday night.

The world No. 18 entered his home Grand Slam on an eight-match losing streak. He stopped the ski on Monday against Guido Andreozzi with a straight-set win, 6-0, 7-6 (4), 6-2.

"I'm relieved, obviously," Sock said. "Yeah, you guys follow tennis throughout the year, so you know it's been a tough road for a little bit here. A little bit for nine months. And obviously I love the game, I have loved it my whole life. I wouldn't be here without the support system I've had. So they just kept pushing me. It was only a matter of time I think for it to turn around."

Not only did he turn it around, but he made the SportsCenter Top 10 with this hot shot:

After sealing the victory, he sat in his chair and did a shoulder shimmy shake.

"I just looked over at my team and I was signaling I was getting the monkey off your back," Sock said. "So I was obviously getting it off my back, as well. Felt like King Kong was on my back there for a while. It was nice to just get it off. Now I can play free."

The 25-year-old takes on Nikoloz Basilashvili for a spot in the third round. Sock's best showing at the US Open was a fourth round appearance in 2016.
