WATCH: ATP stars break out their best shots in Cincy

On a busy Friday in Cincinnati, which featured round-of-16 and quarterfinal matches, some of the players pulled off epic shots that showed off their prowess—and ability to not take themselves so seriously, too.

Earlier in the day, Nick Kyrgios faced Juan Martin del Potro and if there’s one thing you can predict, it’s that the Aussie is going to be unpredictable. On one point, he broke out with the SABR (“Sneak Attack by Roger”), but perhaps more surprising was Delpo’s reply.

Del Potro would go on to win the match in three sets to advance to the quarters, where he’d face David Goffin. The Belgian took the first set in a tiebreak, then clinched the win in another with this bit of brilliance on match point.

In perhaps the most anticipated match of the day, a resurgent Stan Wawrinka took on his countryman Roger Federer. Wawrinka captured the first set behind shots like this one:

It wasn’t enough to hold off the world No. 2, who advanced in three sets to face Goffin. In a disappointing end to his week, Goffin would retire while down to Federer on Saturday. In the only completed men's semifinal, Djokovic took out Marin Cilic to reach his sixth career Cincinnati final.
