WASHINGTON, D.C.— One of the youngest players inside the Top 50, Stefanos Tsitsipas is gaining valuable experience with each passing week. The 19-year-old saved two match points on Wednesday against Jared Donaldson.

The 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 win is just another sign of Tsitsipas' stellar progress in the past year. He started 2018 ranked No. 91 and his latest victory will propel him up inside the Top 30.

"It's something I've been dreaming of for a long time," the Greek teenager told Baseline. "I'm glad that I'm in a position where I'm competing against the top players on the ATP World Tour rankings."

His breakthrough came in Barcelona where he stormed to the final and got to take on the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal. Then at Wimbledon, he reached his first fourth round. Some of the biggest wins under his belt include Dominic Thiem, Diego Schwartzman, Kevin Anderson and Lucas Pouille.

"I feel very very happy that I've done so much work with my team and it's slowly paying off," the world No. 32 said. "It's a strong big step that I made since last year. I have improved so much with my ranking."

It's also special that he's representing a country that hasn't seen a Greek player inside the ATP Top 100, ever. Marcos Baghdatis, who Tsitsipas idolized and is now great friends with, represents Cyprus, an island that's culturally Greek but an independent nation.

"I'm super happy that I can represent my country and be the first Greek inside the Top 100," Tsitsipas said. "Being Greek and playing tennis, it's super special."

The flashy, 6'4" sensation has become a familiar face on tour thanks to his success on court, but he's also boosting his presence off of it. Tsitsipas has his own YouTube channel, where he posts videos regularly about his life on tour.

"There's a big majority of [fans] that love the travel blogs and they encourage to keep doing them," he said. "I'll keep doing it because I enjoy it and it's a nice way of interaction."
