Here's your daily dose of Wimbledon news, Doubles Take-style.

The fairytale run for Frederik Nielsen is over this year.

The Dane, who won the men’s doubles title back in 2012 as a wild card, came close to another title before Michael Venus and Raven Klaasen stopped him and Joe Salisbury in yesterday’s semifinals. Raven and Klaasen, who just decided to team up this year, will face Mike Bryan and Jack Sock in the championship match.

Here’s a look at some of the semifinal action on tap for Friday.

1

Gabriela Dabrowski/Yifan Xu (6) vs. Nicole Melichar/Kveta Peschke (12)

Over the course of the last year and a half, Dabrowski has played the best tennis of her career. She and Xu have established themselves as one of the WTA’s top teams, and the Canadian’s won a couple of Grand Slam mixed doubles titles as well. The veteran Peschke—whose lone major title came at Wimbledon in 2011—continues to perform at a high level, and has gelled quickly with Melichar, her new partner for 2018. The Czech will be fired up to add another major title to her long list of accomplishments.

2

Jay Clarke/Harriet Dart vs. Jamie Murray/Victoria Azarenka

It’s official: The kids can play.

In Murray and Azarenka, they’re facing two players with five mixed doubles majors between them, which includes Murray’s two mixed titles at the All England Club. However, as Clarke and Dart have shown in every match, they’re poised beyond their years. Murray and Azarenka are definitely facing a difficult task ahead.

3

Alicja Rosolska/Abigail Spears vs. Barbora Krejcikova/Katerina Siniakova (3)

It’s been a near-perfect stretch for the third-seeded Czechs, as they’ve won 12 of their last 13 matches. Rosolska and Spears have peaked at just the right time, winning in Nottingham a few weeks ago, with the momentum gained from that catapulting them into the Wimbledon semifinals. This could be a close encounter, but provided Siniakova and Krejcikova don’t succumb to the pressure of trying to win a second consecutive Slam, they should prevail.
