The No. 9–seeded Williams was victorious over Alexandra Dulgheru 4-6, 6-0, 6-1. She next squares off against No. 20 seed Kiki Bertens. In reaching the round of 32 at this Wimbledon, Bertens has already equaled her best finish, from 2016, while Williams is a five-time singles winner at SW19, with her most recent championship coming a decade ago.
