One reporter inquired with Venus Williams about the circular band adorning her ring finger.

"I've been wearing this all year, so you've got to be a little faster," Williams said, verbally volleying away the query. When the questioner continued, asking, "Is it always the same person?" as Williams slyly pointed at him, she skipped a few beats with faux-dramatic intent.

"Now look."

End scene.

The five-time Wimbledon singles winner and *Vogue* beach-body enthusiast will face Alexandra Dulgheru in the second round after the veteran Romanian defeated Kristyna Pliskova for her third straight three-set victory, including qualifying rounds. Venus will be ready.
