Wawrinka and Vekic score huge upsets on same day

Couples that score massive Wimbledon upsets together, stay together? First on Monday, it was Donna Vekic stunning French Open finalist Sloane Stephens 6-1, 6-3.

Later in the day, her boyfriend Stan Wawrinka scored his own upset by taking out No. 6-seeded Grigor Dimitrov 1-6, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (5), 6-4. He then took to social media to share his good news, copying Vekic's pose, emojis and caption.

"I think it was a good day for us at the office, that's for sure," Wawrinka said. "Was great match from her. I watch it from home before coming back for my match. It's been good for us today."

Vekic was in the stands to watch the 33-year-old score his biggest win of 2018 and his first over a Top 50 player since making his return to the tour.

The two have been dating for three years. Vekic recently celebrated her 22nd birthday with Wawrinka by her side.

Wawrinka will next take on Thomas Fabbiano while Vekic will face Rebecca Peterson.
