Ryan Harrison grew up surrounded by tennis. He began playing by 2 years old and his father had a short pro career in on the ITF Futures and ATP Challenger circuits. In the ATP's latest My Story feature, the American recalled playing against his father as an 11-year-old.
Entering the Shreveport City Championships, both dad and son made it to the final, where Harrison got trounced. The experience was an extremely unique one to share, even though he may not have seen it that way at the tim.e
The 26-year-old had a career-best season in 2017, reaching a ranking high of No. 40 and winning his first ATP title in Memphis.
He's made leaps on the doubles tour as well, winning the 2017 French Open with Michael Venus. Harrison is ranked No. 60 going into Wimbledon.
