Borna Coric was not a favorite on the grass courts in Halle, but on Sunday, the 21-year-old proved everyone wrong. He ousted the second seed Alexander Zverev in the first round before making his way to the final, where he upset Roger Federer in three sets.

The win, his second career ATP title, has lifted Coric to a career-high ranking of No. 21.

The young Croatian won his first title in Marrakech last year. Halle is his first ATP 500 title and first on grass.

Coric is undefeated on grass this year, but has only played the one tournament. He's not entered in Eastbourne this week and should have plenty of momentum going into Wimbledon.

He wasn't the only Croatian to have a strong week, with Marin Cilic defeating Novak Djokovic in the Queen's Club final.
