Roger Federer whipped his way to the Halle semifinals by dispatching Matthew Ebden, 7-6 (2), 7-5 on Friday. His famous one-handed backhand was on fire, striking down winners and passing shots from all corners of the court.

The win was an improvement from his three-set marathon over Benoit Paire which saw him save two match points.
