With the result never in doubt, Rafael Nadal won the French Open for an unprecedented 11th time, defeating Dominic Thiem 6-4, 6-3, 6-2. This justifiably earned him many congratulations on Twitter.

Fans and analysts alike reached out to commend Nadal for doing what no one had ever done before.

But most of all in awe were his peers on tour.

And, as always, Nadal had some reactions of his own.

Nadal earns some well-deserved rest before turning his attention on the grass-court season.
