It's your daily dose of Doubles Take, looking at some of the highlights from the French Open.

Coming into this year's tournament, Demi Schuurs was on a tear, winning titles in Rome and Nurnberg prior to Roland Garros with two different partners.

One of those teammates ended the Dutchwoman's campaign before it could really get started.

Schuurs and Elise Mertens, the No .12 seeds, lost to Lara Arruabarrena and Katarina Srebotnik, Schuurs' partner in Nurnberg, in a third-set tiebreak.

Meanwhile, on the men's side, Henri Kontinen and John Peers, the third seeds won their second straight match in commanding fashion, which is a bit of a surprise, given their struggles on the dirt last year.

Here's a look at several must-see matches.

Serena Williams/Venus Williams vs. Kirsten Flipkens/Sara Errani: If Serena Williams was looking to make up for lost time on the court, she’s definitely getting the opportunity at the French Open this year: The doubles match will mark her fourth day in a row on the court. It will be power versus guile in this match as Flipkens and Errani—a former world No. 1 in doubles—both have clay-court savvy for days.

Gabriela Dabrowski/Mate Pavic (1) vs. Pauline Parmentier/Gregoire Barrere: The top seeds in mixed doubles kick off the second leg of their quest for a calendar Grand Slam, having come through in Australia earlier this year.

Dabrowski—who won her first Grand Slam title last year at the French last year in mixed doubles—and Pavic will not only be taking on Parmentier and Barrere, but a partisan French crowd as well, who will look to inspire their compatriots to pull off the upset.

Steve Johnson/Jack Sock vs. Pablo Cuevas/Marcel Granollers (11): Coming off a career year in singles, Sock’s follow-up campaign in that discipline has not gone as well as he would’ve liked so far. However, he’s been playing almost lights out in doubles with three titles on the year. He and Johnson, his Olympics Bronze Medal-winning partner, face a tough duo in Cuevas and Granollers, both of whom excel in clay-court doubles.
