After three months away with an illness, Lucie Safarova is back in action. She scored her first win in Strasbourg, before falling in the round of 16.

Then in Paris this week for Roland Garros, the 2015 finalist won her opening round over Jessika Ponchet to set up an encounter with Karolina Pliskova.

The 31-year-old, now ranked just outside of the Top 50, is entered in the doubles draw with Svetlana Kuznetsova. Her longtime partner, Bethanie Mattek-Sands, has teamed up with Yung-jan Chan.
