Adding yet another dimension to the comeback story, Serena and Venus Williams were awarded a wild card into the Roland Garros doubles draw, joining an already sparkling list of all-star entries.

The sisters will look to add to their 14 Grand Slam titles as a team, which include the 1999 and 2010 French Opens. Their most recent major together was Wimbledon in 2016, when Serena also lifted the singles trophy.

They lost their most recent doubles match, the Fed Cup dead rubber in February, in straight sets. The circumstances of that match were unusual, with it being Serena's first match back from maternity leave.

Other high-voltage pairings on the entry list include Ashleigh Barty and CoCo Vandeweghe, Jelena Ostapenko and Elena Vesnina, Daria Gavrilova and Daria Kasatkina and Victoria Azarenka and Aryna Sabalenka.

The 2017 champions, Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Lucie Safarova, are playing separately this year, Mattek-Sands is paired with Latisha Chan while Safarova is competing with Svetlana Kuznetsova.
