The Nuremburg Cup in Germany is one of the last tuneup events going into Roland Garros and it's seeing its fair share of great players and matches. One thing that was maybe unexpected though, the invention of the fake selfie.

Tournament photographer Alexander Schueber captured fan moments with players using a professional camera, but with the player extending her hand to make it seem like a selfie.

Odd, right? But the result is great selfies made with a real camera that's left in the hands of the photographer, not on someone's phone. The best part may be the fans bemused faces as the scene unfolds unexpectedly.

Rain has plagued the tournament all week long. Sloane Stephens was the top seed, but lost her opening round to Yulia Putintseva in a third-set tiebreak. No. 2-seeded Julia Goerges also tumbled out of her first match in a deciding tiebreak.
