France's team has just three players, Kristina Mladenovic, Amandine Hesse and Pauline Parmentier with captain Yannick Noah.

Team USA should feel very strong going into the showdown. Vandeweghe helped lead the team to the Fed Cup crown last year by not dropping a match all year long.

She just won the Miami Open doubles crown with Ashleigh Barty, while Stephens regained her confidence by winning the singles title. Mattek-Sands is back in action after a knee injury at Wimbledon, scoring her first doubles win in Charleston, where Keys reached the semifinals.
