In one of the most historic and beautiful cities in the U.S., the stars of the Volvo Car Open are soaking in the flavors and sights of Charleston ahead of the green clay action.

Daria Gavrilova and Daria Kasatkina got a lesson in pasta-making with a local Charleston chef.

The friends cooked up a storm in the kitchen, preparing a dish for themselves ahead of their tournament openers.

Two more big names in the loaded draw, Johanna Konta and Naomi Osaka, took in the views of downtown Charleston with a rooftop hit.

Osaka is riding a high into the clay-court season after winning Indian Wells and beating her idol Serena Williams in Miami.

Both stars are eager to begin their clay-court seasons early at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Daniel Island.

Caroline Garcia is the top seed in the Premier draw, followed by Petra Kvitova and Kasatkina. Miami Open champion Sloane Stephens is the No. 4 seed.
