Osaka, Kasatkina thrill fans, friends with career weeks

In the semifinals of the BNP Paribas Open, 20-year-old rising stars Naomi Osaka and Daria Kasatkina pulled off two of the biggest upsets of their careers, knocking out Simona Halep and Venus Williams respectively.

With Halep being the world No. 1 and Williams being a seven-time Grand Slam champion, these results got the tennis world's attention.

After Kasatkina's three-set thriller with Williams, 2017 Indian Wells champion Elena Vesnina congratulated her compatriot.

Equal excitement was shared by friend and fellow "Dasha" Daria Gavrilova.

Osaka received widespread support from her tons of fans.

Per WTA Insider, this is the first final in 17 years between players under 21, which helps explain why people are so enthused to see new faces get this far.

Sunday's final will be the first official match between Osaka and Kasatkina, though they know each other pretty well from the practice court.
