It might not be great for the losing player, but witnessing a relatively unknown athlete make a splash in a big tournament is always welcome. Japan's Taro Daniel did just that in his second round match at Indian Wells. He had to go through two rounds of qualifying matches to face off against a returning Novak Djokovic.

A scrappy match ensued before the world No. 109 pulled out the win in three sets, 7-6, 4-6, 6-1.

Daniel, speaking on the biggest win of his career, said, "It's kind of hard to describe...I can't believe I beat someone like that on the center court like this; it's crazy."

For Djokovic, it's back to work as he continues his comeback from elbow surgery.
