Juan Martin del Potro defeated Kevin Anderson, 6-4, 6-4, to win the Mexico Open in Acapulco. It's his biggest title since winning Basel in 2013.

Del Potro has a sparkling 7-0 record over Anderson. While fans of Del Potro believed that he had it in him to win another Grand Slam, not many predicted that he could defeat three Top 10 players in a row. He took out Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinals, Alexander Zverev in the semifinals, and Anderson—who he will switch places with in the rankings, reaching world No. 8.

This marks Del Potro's first title since defending Stockholm last year.
