Novak Djokovic looks to be inching his way back to full health.

Since undergoing a small medical intervention on his ailing right elbow, Djokovic has been updating fans on his progress—and it finally includes tennis courts.

For weeks, it appeared his rehab did not involve holding a racquet, but those days are finally over. The Piatti Tennis Center, a facility in Northern Italy, was recently graced by a surprise guest on its courts.

Djokovic’s return to practice marks the first time he’s hit the court since falling to Hyeon Chung in the fourth round of the Australian Open.

It’s unclear whether the Serb will be ready for the spring hard-court season. He is still scheduled to play at Indian Wells and the Miami Open, but a return during the clay-court season is more likely.

Whenever he officially makes his way back, he’ll look to distance himself at long last from the elbow troubles that have seen him fall out of the Top 10 for the first time in over 10 years.
