The jump from the ATP 250 level to the ATP 500 level is an important one. Some players never cross that line in their career, but Diego Schwartzman just did it in Rio.

The Argentine previously had just one ATP 250 title to his name (Istanbul in 2016). With a 6-2, 6-3 win over Fernando Verdasco on Sunday,  the 25-year-old won his first ATP 500 without the loss of a set.

The win propels Schwartzman to No. 18, marking his first time inside the Top 20.
