As all of the sporting world’s eyes are on the Winter Olympics, the stars of the WTA have been doing their part to keep tabs. Some of the players were quizzed on all things Pyeongchang during the Qatar Total Open in Doha.

Elina Svitolina, Angelique Kerber and Jelena Ostapenko were far from guessing the right number of events at these Winter Olympics but Caroline Wozniacki, Karolina Pliskova, and Simona Halep were nearly spot on. There are a whopping 102 events in Pyeongchang.

Pliskova and Halep continued their hot streak in the challenge to correctly spell Pyeongchang, with Ostapenko also getting it right. Svitolina and Kerber were not even close.

The most revealing of all the games, the players chose which Winter Olympic event they would do if they were to trade in their racquets for skis or skates. Biathlon was a surprising winner for both Kerber and Pliskova, who added that she doesn’t enjoy winter.

Wozniacki believed curling would be the easiest event to medal in (Denmark has won their only Winter Olympics medal in curling). Halep showed her daredevil tendencies by choosing alpine skiing, while Svitolina wanted to try snowboarding. Ostapenko veered from the pack with ice hockey.

While the players may have their eyes on the snow and ice of South Korea, they will get to continue enjoying the warm desert climate of Dubai this week.
