Lauren Davis didn't see action in the weekend's Fed Cup shutout that the United States staged over The Netherlands, but she did make a memorable moment or two happen.

Cheering on compatriot CoCo Vandeweghe in the midst of a tight singles match on Saturday, captured on USTA video, Davis clapped, paused to adjust her container of wasabi peas, clapped some more and then (in her own words) choked.

That provided an amusing moment of levity from Davis. She handled the moment with aplomb, as teammates Serena Williams, Venus Williams and Shelby Rogers seemed oblivious to her brief plight. Not to fret, the ever-plucky Davis was back to her jouncy self a day later.

The Americans, with the diminutive Davis captaining the cheerleading charge, moved on to the Fed Cup semifinal round, where the U.S. squad will face the French team who snared a dramatic 3-2 win over Belgium.
