There's height difference and then there's height difference. In Quito for the ATP 250, Ivo Karlovic and Rogerio Dutra Silva got an inside look at a 2,000-acre water treatment center carved into the Andes mountains.

Quito, also called the "City in the Sky," is 9,350 feet above sea level. Karlovic and Dutra Silva played a round of mini-tennis ahead of the real deal this week, where Karlovic is the No. 7 seed (Dutra Silva fell in the first round).

Last month, the 38-year-old Karlovic became the oldest player to compete in the Australian Open third round since 1978 (Ken Rosewall). The big-serving Croatian is used to seeing his name in the history books. In 2016, Karlovic ended the season at No. 20, becoming the oldest player in the Top 20 since, you guessed it, Rosewall in 1978.

Karlovic is now ranked No. 90.
