Former top-40 player Rebecca Marino played her first tournament in five years last week, and she won the thing.
Just months after announcing her comeback, the 27-year-old qualified and captured an ITF $15,000 in Antalya, Turkey, without dropping a set.
The Canadian walked away from professional tennis in 2013 because of depression stemming from online harassment.
She recently shared a message about mental health for Bell Let's Talk Day:
In addition to the five-round main draw, she also had to get through three rounds of qualifying. She won her first qualifying match 6-0, 6-1, and went on to record three 6-1 sets against three different opponents in the main draw.
Marino is entered into another $15,000 in Antalya, which starts this week.
