The former world No. 1 hasn't played since Wimbledon thanks to a complicated custody battle over her one-year-old son Leo. Azarenka wasn't allowed to leave California with Leo, and thus could not remain on tour.

The good news is Indian Wells is in the right state, but the bad news is she still isn't done battling with her ex-boyfriend Billy McKeague.TMZ reported that Azarenka may get to move the case to Belarus, her home nation.

The 28-year-old's ranking has dropped to No. 208 in her absence. She has won the title in Indian Wells twice, in 2012 and 2016.
