Federer has cruised to the final, even benefitting from a second-set retirement from Hyeon Chung in the semifinals. Cilic, too, had a simple time in the semifinals, breezing past Kyle Edmund.

Federer holds the edge in head-to-head encounters, 8-1 with Cilic's only victory coming at the 2014 US Open (the year he won it).
