Nick Kyrgios might not seem like someone easily impressed, but that just isn't the case. During his on-court interview after defeating Jo Wilfried Tsonga in four gritty sets, the Aussie confessed he got nervous when he noticed Will Smith showed up.

“[I know] people think I’m cool, but I just wanted him to think I was the coolest person ever.”

He even got in a dig on the famous actor, drawing huge laughs when he claimed he watches Smith’s film Focus every time he takes a flight. “But it’s because of [Australian actress] Margot Robbie, by the way. Not because [of you].”

Kyrgios also revealed he was nervous standing across the net from his opponent, Tsonga. Ten years ago, Tsonga reached his one and only Grand Slam final at the Australian Open. A 12-year-old Kyrgios was at all of his practices asking for his autograph. He spoke about their exchange at the net after the match.

“I was kind of staring at him," Kyrgios said. "I didn’t really say anything. He kind of just smiled, kind of embraced me…I was nervous for both [Smith and Tsonga] honestly.”

Kyrgios’ win over Tsonga was his first on Rod Laver arena. He would fall in a blockbuster fourth round with No. 3 seed Grigor Dmitrov on Monday.
