Who's ready for another big day of tennis Down Under?

Players at the Australian Open are finalizing preparations for the year’s first major despite some uncharacteristic rain over the last few days. Day 2 will see some big names including Rafael Nadal, Simona Halep, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova.

Top seed Rafael Nadal beat the rain in Melbourne, working hard on Rod Laver Arena after having only having been able to play two exhibitions in 2018 due to a lingering knee injury.

Defending champion and No. 2 seed Roger Federer is back in Melbourne Park with his eyes set on a 20th Grand Slam trophy. He opens against Ajlaz Bedene.

Six-time champion Novak Djokovic appears healthy, as questions over his lingering elbow injury continue. He faces Donald Young on Tuesday.

One of the favorites for the title on the women’s side, No. 1 seed Simona Halep, will have a tough road as she seeks her first major. First up, she'll take on teenage local wildcard Destanee Aiava.

Maria Sharapova, one of only two previous winners in the women's draw, is back on Rod Laver Arena for the first time in two years. She could cause chaos in the draw as a dangerous unseeded threat, and opens against Tatjana Maria.

Fourth seed Alexander Zverev is seeking a breakthrough at a major for the first time despite being cast into a loaded quarter. He'll start against Thomas Fabbiano.
