Garbine Muguruza accepted a wildcard into Sydney and—in her short time there—took full advantage of what the grounds had to offer. She hung out with fans, touched a bunch of rather unusual animals and cracked jokes with the over-sized tournament mascots.

After getting her first win of 2018 over Kiki Bertens, Muguruza had to withdraw with a right thigh injury. It's her second uncompleted tournament in two weeks after retiring from Brisbane with muscle cramps.
