Hopman Cup stars hit the beach in Australia

Surfing, swimming, and sun are all on the agenda for these top co

While New York saw the second-coldest New Years Eve ever, top tennis players were warm and hitting the beach in Perth during the Hopman Cup.

Alexander Zverev and Angelique Kerber tried their hand at surfing just before the beginning of the tournament. "We are from a country that doesn't get many sunny days," Zverev said. "So this is a great experience, every time."

They weren't the only ones to catch some rays. Eugenie Bouchard and Vasek Pospisil didn't miss a chance to hit the beach, but they were a lot more laid back than the Germans, choosing to pose on the sand and splash around near the shore rather than ride the waves.

They did have a little fun with a third guest though:

Meanwhile, other teams didn't explore the beach, but did get up close to local animals at Caversham Wildlife Park and Rottnest Island.

Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Karen Khachanov had a blast with koalas, wombats and kangaroos:

The Hopman Cup final will take place on Saturday, pitting the winner's from Group A and Group B.
