Andy Murray was forced to push back the start of his comeback because he is still struggling with a hip injury that ruined his 2017 season. He chose a throwback photo and a lot of emotional words to make his point.

"Sorry for the long post but I wanted to keep everyone in the loop and get this off my chest as it's really hurting inside," Murray wrote.

The Scot hasn't competed since Wimbledon, and was planning to play Brisbane but had to withdraw at the lats minute. He's still trying to avoid surgery.

Murray's peers, including Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, showed nothing but support for the three-time Grand Slam champion.

There's no guarantee that the 30-year-old will be healthy enough for the Australian Open, where he's been a five-time finalist. He'll make a decision in the coming days.

It goes without saying that everyone wants to see him healthy and back on court for good.

Murray did make a mini-return by stepping in as an alternate in Abu Dhabi last week. He dropped his match against Roberto Buatista Agut.
