Ostapenko officially joins Rolex team

Jelena Ostapenko’s star continues to rise going into the 2018 season. The Latvian signed an endorsement deal with Rolex just before the seasons started.

Ostapenko joins some of tennis’ elite in being sponsored by the luxury watch giant like Roger Federer, Milos Raonic, Grigor Dimitrov, Garbine Muguruza, Caroline Wozniacki and Angelique Kerber.

The 20-year-old has seen her fame grow exponentially since her stunning Roland Garros breakthrough, enjoying an offseason full of award ceremonies.

Latvia even put her on a stamp, which is appropriate given the world No. 7 is the nation's first-ever singles Grand Slam champion.

Ostapenko played in the Hua Hin exhibition event before beating Serena Williams in Abu Dhabi last Saturday. She started her official season in Shenzhen, but dropped her opener to Kristyna Pliskova, 6-1, 6-4.
