The 20-year-old had a career-best year in 2017, blasting her way to a maiden Grand Slam title in stunning fashion at Roland Garros and ending the season at a career-high ranking of No. 7.

The Latvian also picked up her second title in Seoul and qualified for the WTA Finals in Singapore.

The WTA coaching carousel has been in full swing this offseason with many players switching coaches in favor of new voices for the new season. Taylor, an experienced Australian coach, spent many years with Samantha Stosur, leading her to her US Open triumph in 2011. Taylor also worked with Naomi Osaka last season.

Taylor will only travel a limited schedule with Ostapenko in 2018. It's unclear who will be the Latvian’s primary coach at regular tour events after Anabel Medina Garrigues left to be Spain’s next Fed Cup captain.

Ostapenko will begin the new season in Shenzhen alongside the likes of Simona Halep and Maria Sharapova.
