Wimbledon tops Google's global sporting event list

Google released it's "Year in Search 2017" list showing all of the most popular trends of the season. Amidst most searched people, consumer tech and how to's came global sport events, led by the one and only Wimbledon.

The grass-court Slam leads a prolific list of events including Super Bowl (No. 2), Mayweather vs. McGregor Fight (No. 3), Tour de France (No. 4) and World Series (No. 5). Wimbledon isn't the only Slam inside the Top 10 though as the Australian Open came in at No. 6 followed by the US Open at No. 7.

Pretty impressive for a sport that's not considered one of the big three (football, baseball and basketball).
