In a quarterfinal match in Madrid,  Alexander Zverev took on veteran Pablo Cuevas and captured the first set. Early in the second, a cat-and-mouse point ended with the no-looking winner of the year.

Cuevas would rally to defeat Zverev, and reach the first ATP Masters 1000 semi of his career. It was a career milestone that was made all the more memorable by a shot for the ages.
