2018 ATP rivalries to look forward to: No. 1

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will continue their legendary bout

With Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal dominating the ATP circuit, and most of the top-contenders ending their seasons early, 2018 is primed to produce some electric battles between rivals, both new and storied. Baseline will countdown the most anticipated rivalries of the new year.

Head-to-Head record: Nadal leads 23-15

The two GOATS, and their historic rivalry, don't need an introduction. Even though Nadal leads the head-to-head record against Federer, the Swiss dominated the Spaniard in 2017, winning all four of their bouts, one of them being the Australian Open final.

Whether Federer will continue his domination, closing the head-to-head gap even further, or Nadal switches things up, it will be an interesting 2018 for both players and fans.
