In 2014—what was then his career-best year—Grigor Dimitrov faded in the final few months of the season and missed out the ATP finals. This season, the Bulgarian has qualified as the No. 6 player in the world.

Best Performance

Maybe Dimitrov’s brilliant five-set loss to Rafael Nadal in the Australian Open semifinals was enough to show that he can finally contend for major, but the loss hurt badly. Nothing was sweeter than defeating Nick Kyrgios 6-3, 7-5 for the Cincinnati title. He showed terrific defense, executed with patience and cashed in on his first ATP Masters 1000 title.

Season Low

After disappointing tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami, Dimitrov was worn out for the clay-court season. He won only two of six matches going into the French Open and was out of there by the third round.

Best Quote

AnESPN feature revealed that Dimitrov has an inspirational quote scripted on the neck of his racket: "Great dreamers' dreams are never fulfilled, they are always transcended." He said that it comes from the book The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari.

In London, Dimitrov is in the Pete Sampras Group with Nadal, Thiem and Goffin.
