Puig, Puerto Rico's first Olympic gold medalist, purchased the supplies with the proceeds from her YouCaring fundraiser, which has received over $150,000 in donations so far.

According to her YouCaring page, items included cooking stoves, propane cylinders, solar-powered lamps and medication.
