The ATP Finals in London will showcase the eight top-ranked players in mid-November. Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Alexander Zverev and Dominic Thiem have already qualified, and Marin Cilic and Grigor Dimitrov are basically a lock. The other two slots are up for grabs.

Over the next few weeks, the final few tournaments of 2017 will set the stage. Which leading contenders have the best chances to win a few more matches and get to London?

1

David Goffin (2,750 points)

The Belgian is the top seed in Antwerp, his home country, as he looks to grab the 250 points to solidify his position as the No. 7 qualifier. He leads the No. 9 slot by 225 points heading into his quarterfinal match, and he’s had solid quarterfinal and semifinal results at ATP Masters 1000 tournaments in the past two years.

2

Pablo Carreno Busta (2,605 points)

His run to the US Open semifinals put him in contention for London, but he hasn't won a match since then. He is holding onto the eighth slot by only 80 points after losing in Moscow as the top seed. The Spaniard will be in a three-way battle against his two nearest pursuers over the next two weeks beginning in Vienna.

3

Sam Querrey (2,525)

The American has won big matches in the past year and a half and is a tough player on fast surfaces. A nice draw and a strong performance in Vienna and Paris could see him leap past Carreno Busta and Goffin. He only needs to pass one of them to punch his ticket to London for the first time.

4

Kevin Anderson (2,470)

Anderson lost to Nadal in the US Open final, but he is making a strong bid for London. He’s the No. 2 seed in Vienna, and if he wins this weekend he will move past Querrey and Carreno Busta before making the trip to Vienna and Paris. His game is also well-suited for fast courts, and he’s grown stronger with each passing year.
