After getting to Monterrey early I had good preparation for the week ahead. My luggage had arrived after an earlier delay, and Jarryd Chaplin and I got through our first doubles match on Monday.

I played a singles night match on Tuesday against wild card Manuel Sanchez, but after three separate rain delays, once the match started we only got through one set before they stopped our match at 11 p.m. We came back the next day and I got through 7-5, 7-5. We had doubles in the evening, which we ended up losing, but I also sprinted for a ball crosscourt and tweaked something slightly in my leg.

When I woke up the next day, I was a little sore but felt like I could warm up well and get out to play against Dominik Koepfer. Again we had a lot of rain so I warmed up and down a number of times. Once we finally got on court I knew I wasn’t gonna be able to push as hard as I needed to without risking further injury so, as it’s been a few times this year, a little injury ended my week.

I flew back early the next morning from Monterrey to San Francisco and drove out to the Fairfield, Calif. One good thing about my slight injury is that I was able to head out and take in some of the PGA tour event being played in Napa.

I’ll keep doing everything right to get back on court this week and I think I should be good to go. I’ve been taking care of everything I need to and look forward to getting back out there.
